Localization is the process of adapting a translation or software to a new market and audience. Businesses that expand their product, slogan or software rely on localization experts. Translations have to be culturally sensitive and targeted specifically at their audience and local clientele. Translators, localization engineers and graphic artists research locale norms and regulations, format and resize layout for translations with word expansion, adapt color pallets, and convert currencies and dates. The localized product or document is then both visually and linguistically tested with a small group of the target audience. Once validated, the final version is implemented to the new market.
