ITI has developed a number of language assessment tests to gauge the skills of the interpreters they work with. These tests are designed to help ITI objectively assess: an interpreter’s vocabulary (both in their native language and in English), an interpreter’s ability to memorize and retain information that they hear, and how quickly they can solve language problems. The tests vary both in difficulty and in the speed with which the interpreter must respond or translate what they hear. These tests are an excellent way to gauge whether an individual will be a good interpreter or not and whether they have a good command of English and their other language.
ITI provides language assessment testing for corporations and hospitals who need an objective assessment of their staff’s language skills. ITI staff members can conduct these tests in your offices.
