Yesterday, I went out on a home visit with Miss O'Neil (Portuguese interpreter). She was awsome! I was definitely impressed, and it was probably one of my best experiences yet with ITI. That is not to say that I have not worked with a lot of good interpreters through ITI, but Jackie was great.
Social Worker, State of ConnecticutAn interpreter is used for the spoken word, usually in a courtroom setting, deposition, medical appointments, home visits, physical therapy, business meetings, conferences or any other situation where you may encounter someone who doesn’t speak your language. A translator is used for the written word whether it is web content, documentation, form or contract, maybe even just as simple as a birth certificate or marriage certificate.
I hate to say it and you probably don’t want to hear (or see) it, but it’s true. It really does depend on a number of different factors like language, length of assignment or document. Is there desktop publishing or travel involved? It really isn’t so cut and dry but reach out to us and let’s have a conversation about your needs. That will truly make it easier for us to give you a quote.
See our languages page. If a language you need is not listed, chances are we do provide it, but it may be what is referred to as a low-frequency language and we probably still have resources available.

That depends on the length of your document, language, formatting amongst other things. We have built our reputation on putting out high quality work with industry leading turnaround times. Give us a call and we’ll be glad to give you a better idea! ...and yes, we do provide rush jobs if you need something done the same day.
We have been known to have interpreters available with 15 minutes notice, but can fill most requests with as little as a couple hours notice. We prefer to know as soon as our clients know to give us time to secure the proper linguist for your occasion.
Our clients have access to our secure login portals via our website. Let us know if you would like to set up an account. You will never be charged unless you schedule an assignment or project that goes through.
You may register through our vendor registration. We will review the information and be in touch with next steps. We look forward to the potential of partnering with you!
While certification is preferred, it is not as important as language proficiency and subject matter expertise. Depending on the type of assignment, we will hand pick you based on work experience, professionalism and personality. Certification is important in a legal or medical setting, but outside these arenas we may need someone with technical expertise for a corporate training program where there is no certification and we need someone with specific experience. With that being said, we always love when interpreters take the initiative to get certified. It shows a great deal of commitment and we at iTi really appreciate the professionalism that goes along with that.
